Although I have had friends from many different countries who have dealt with the immigration system over the years, it was helpful to listen to Ms. Neal and I appreciated hearing about the system from a reliable source. Her description of the various legal ways to receive the different types of visas and permissions to come to and remain in the United States was very helpful. It made it easier to understand how people I know dealt with the system and I appreciated anew why a friend of mine, who is from Venezuela, was celebrating when her green card suddenly came through for her and why it might have taken so long. Now with the congress debating changes to the immigration/ border securitybill I will feel like a more informed citizen.
Yes, Sherry was very knowledgable about the immigration system. I appreciated how she broke down and explained each of the three parts of the proposed immigration reform act. And she shed light on the cumbersome and time-consuming path so many residents must take before a green card or citizenship is achieved.
