Wow! From the amazing organization of the Healing Center to the way that the people who are serviced are called guests, I was impressed with this organization. This was a place that clearly served people in a way that made them feel not only humanized but valued and respected. Indeed, everywhere I looked, there were inspirational signs that valued not only the guests but also spoke to sustaining the positive attitudes of those who served the guests.
I was also impressed with the scope of the services that the center offered, with the corps of volunteers, and with the fact that all are made welcome. This speaks to my Franciscan background with promotes service to all those in need, whether the need be physical, spiritual, or social. The Healing Center clearly understands that there are needs well beyond the physical.
