Su Casa experience was great also. I am a secondary educator, with no aspiration to become an elementary educator, but I did enjoy working with the 3 young boys at my table. The boys quickly gravitated to me and the idea that I was spending time with them. Neither the boys or I allowed any language barrier to hamper the exchanges. I can easily see myself or my teen children volunteering at the facility to either tutor or aid in the service at Su Casa.
I was at the table next to you reading, and you seemed to be having a wonderful time laughing and counting with the boys! I'm with you- I have no desire to teach little ones, but I really enjoyed our time reading and interacting with the ninos.
ReplyDeleteI could see myself and my daughter volunteering as well. It was a great experience.
