Latinas en Ohio

Jacqueline Rioja Velarde was an extremely interesting presenter. One aspect that I found especially intriguing was the role of  Latinas in the community. Jacqueline Rioja Velarde's presentation on Latina Rising helped to dispel many of the misconceptions about the Latina community. I found it very exciting that education has increased as much as it has over the last ten years. (111% for those with Bachelor's degrees, 105% for college degrees.) Another interesting fact was 1 in 10 women owned businesses were Latina. I do wish that this information was publicized more. I especially liked the discussion centering around self/ social identity, cultural identity and inter-cultural identity and how the former two merge into the latter.
