Immigration

I really thought that I knew more about immigration laws and rights but I'm so thankful for the discussion today as I learned a lot about the current law and the new reform that might be passed in August. I never heard of the lottery until a week ago when a Colombian non documented friend was telling me that they had never been chosen and she is hoping for the new reform to be put in place. Today discussion helped me to understand how the reform is going to work and the steps that non documented people need to follow in order to be part of it, but at the same time it brings so many questions to my mind and some great debates that I can have in class. The biggest one is where is all the people are going to work and will they be eligible for welfare and other government help.
